Terry Eastwood

Terry Eastwood is Professor Emeritus of the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies at the University of British Columbia. He was the founding chair of the school’s Master of Archival Studies Program, a position he held from 1981 to 2000. Since his days as an archivist at the Provincial Archives of British Columbia in the 1970s, he has been interested in the theory, methods, and practice of archival arrangement and description. With Jean Dryden, he co-authored the report of the Canadian Working Group on Archival Descriptive Standards, Toward Descriptive Standards (1984), and was a member of the Planning Committee on Descriptive Standards of the Bureau of Canadian Archivists, which developed Rules for Archival Description in the 1990s.
